Our Backstory

The physical workplace and an organisation's culture can often be the differentiators for potential employees.  Ark was formed to help businesses offer something additional and different for current and future employees while doing good at the same time. 


The key drivers to many decisions is the need to attract and retain top talent in the business. With CSR such an important part of corporate culture, we wanted to see how organisations could help with conservation projects globally in a joined-up way.  A network of projects benefitting from consistent help from the same organisation, the same people and the same goals and skill sets where they are needed. 


We understand that organisations are constantly investing in workplaces. A conversation between Nigel and Liz over coffee one day brought Ark to life.  With a combination of change management, event organisation and project management, we have an excellent skill set to help align and deliver environmental projects to you, for you.

Nigel Sikora
Founder

Nigel Sikora

It has been a 35 year hiatus since Nigel visited the Grand Canyon on an expedition to repair burn trails as part of conservation work for the National Park. A memory that has stayed close to his heart. With a career in workplace design, consultancy and change management, it is only now that Nigel can fulfill his ambition to get involved again and do some good. 


Nigel brings business experience along with change management skills to the Ark and will help promote the benefits for organisations. 

Liz Theakston

Liz Theakston

With over 20 years project and event management experience, Liz has worked with a number of different industries looking at how to make their business work more effectively, whether it be through the medium of events or indeed streamlining practices on a day-to-day basis. With her expertise in logistics, Liz will work alongside you to find the perfect project. 


Your contact from the start, Liz will accompany you on that journey to explore what you and your employees are looking to achieve.

David Jones
Advocate

David Jones
Advocate

Working for a number of production companies including the BBC, and alongside TV personalities such as David Attenborough, Bear Grylls and Ben Fogle, David fully understands environmental issues. He was also heavily involved in the production of the film, A Plastic Ocean, and in 2014 he started his own venture, Just One Ocean to promote further awareness of ocean issues. 


An expert at engaging with projects, David will work as an advocate and adviser, assisting Liz and Nigel on identifying projects to work with.
